Reproductive Violence in the Colombian Armed Conflict
The decision whether or not to have children does not belong to any armed group, to the State or to anyone else but the women themselves. The Center presented this report on reproductive violence to the Colombian Truth Commission that was created after the signing of the peace agreement between the FARC-EP and the Colombian State in 2016, this organization was established to investigate human rights violations from Colombia’s decades-long armed conflict. The objective of this document is to contribute to the recognition of reproductive violence as an autonomous category in order to provide victims with appropriate reparations. The Center signed an agreement of understanding with the Colombian Truth Commission in November 2019 to contribute to the construction of peace in society. You will find two versions: the whole report and a shorter version for journalists and media.
