Each month, the Center for Reproductive Rights publishes Front Lines, its newsletter with the latest news from the global fight for reproductive rights.

Last month, we saw a landmark ruling that affirmed the right to abortion care in Kenya. This month, the Center honors the fifth anniversary of Black Maternal Health Week in the United States, and issues a critical call-to-action to protect the sexual and reproductive health and rights of people fleeing war in Ukraine.
Last month marked a historic victory in Colombia, when the nation’s Constitutional Court ruled to decriminalize abortion up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, while in the United States, reproductive rights are at greater risk than ever before.
A year after Poland’s discredited Constitutional Tribunal ruled to ban abortion completely, the Center and its partners are fighting back against this dangerous move to roll back reproductive rights. Learn more about our ongoing work in Poland, along with celebratory updates out of the Philippines, where child marriage has at long last been ruled a crime, as well as the Sindh region of Pakistan, where the Center’s public interest litigation has helped obstetric fistula survivors access critical rehabilitative care.
Although sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are essential to gender equality, millions of women and girls around the world still lack legal protections for these fundamental rights. The Center is taking proactive measures to educate and empower the next generation of global litigators and advocates through meaningful discourse and strong partnerships with organizations in countries across the globe.
As we reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together this year, we are reminded that our work is far from over in the fight to advance reproductive rights around the world. From El Salvador to Tanzania, to Slovakia and Colombia and beyond, we continue to leverage the power of law to protect reproductive rights for all.
