National Network of Abortion Funds Amicus Brief in Zurawski v. State of Texas
Brief filed in Zurawski v. State of Texas.
Amicus is the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF), a national membership organization for abortion funds in the U.S. The brief addresses how structural, financial, and logistical barriers prevent people in Texas from accessing abortion care in states where it is legal. People who need life and health-preserving abortion care face even more barriers and they are left with few, if any, options to access care. Amicus explains how systemic inequalities increase barriers for oppressed communities, including people of color, people living on low incomes, disabled people, and LGBTQ people, and how, as a result, Texas’s bans have disproportionate harms on these groups.
