Jihan Jacob
Associate Director of Legal Strategies for Asia
Jihan Jacob has been playing a key role for almost a decade in supporting the work of the Center’s Asia program through legal and advocacy strategies on a range of reproductive issues. Through her efforts, the Center co-founded the Philippine Safe Abortion Advocacy Network—the most prominent CSO network in the country openly advocating for the decriminalization of abortion. For years, she has worked with global and regional pro bono actors to advance reproductive rights in the region. She has also led and supported the Asia program’s engagement and partnerships with UN bodies and agencies as well as organizations working in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Turkmenistan.
Jihan obtained her Master of Laws under the International Reproductive and Sexual Health Law Programme at the University of Toronto and has been practicing law for over a decade. She is based in the Philippines.
