The Center for Reproductive Rights works to hold federal agencies accountable in upholding and advancing reproductive rights and health.
On February 24, 2023, the Center’s President and CEO Nancy Northup joined with leading medical experts and other reproductive rights leaders at a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss protecting reproductive health care, particularly medication abortion.
The Vice President addressed the importance of access to medication abortion, which is currently subject to litigation and accounts for more than half of all abortions in the United States, as well as its use for miscarriage management.
Katherine Gillespie, Acting Director of the Federal Policy and Advocacy Team, also attended the event.
