Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles—whose tenure at the magazine has been marked by a commitment to advancing women’s health issues—moderated an inspiring discussion cohosted by the Center for Reproductive Rights. The panel included reproductive rights champions Sen. Richard Blumenthal (CT), Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ), and our own president and CEO, Nancy Northup.
Topics included:
- implications of Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt,
- the role of advocacy in reducing stigma around reproductive health care,
- federal legislation such as the Women’s Health Protection Act and the EACH Woman Act to address access and affordability of abortion services,
- selection of future Supreme Court justices.
The audience included not only reproductive rights movement players, but also a number of high-profile speakers and attendees of the Democratic National Convention, Members of Congress, major press outlets, and over 7,700 Facebook Live viewers.
