International Safe Abortion Day (ISAD) 2023 Statement from Civil Society Organizations Working in Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya
The Center for Reproductive Rights and ten partner organizations issued a statement on #Sept28, International Safe Abortion Day of 2023, commending the people, governments, and organizations working to advance women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.
In addition to marking the progress made in securing the rights of girls and women to access safe and legal abortion, the statement also reflects on the gaps and barriers that hinder the full realization of these rights. The partner organizations call on all actors to take a series of actions to address the ongoing issues impacting access.
