Women’s Equality & Economic Opportunity Amicus Brief

National Women’s Law Center and 72 other organizations committed to equality and economic opportunity for women.

The brief argues that abortion restrictions impede women’s ability to participate equally in society by harming economic security, equality, and opportunity, and have particularly detrimental effects on low-income women, women living in poverty, women of color, women who already have children, women subjected to intimate partner violence, and transgender and non-binary individuals.

The brief explains how abortion restrictions impose significant and, at times, insurmountable costs that threaten women’s financial well-being, job security, workforce participation, educational attainment, health, personal security, and autonomy.
