Tell Congress: We Need the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA)
Congress must act to protect abortion rights and access in every state.
On June 24, the U.S. Supreme Court took away the constitutional right to abortion, paving the way for states to ban abortion outright—a step that half of U.S. states are expected to take in coming days and months. The U.S. Congress can and should act immediately to protect the right to access abortion in every state.
The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) is federal legislation that would protect the right to access abortion in every U.S. state, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe. Equal access to abortion care—everywhere—is essential for social and economic equality, reproductive autonomy, and the right to determine our own lives.
