The Right to Information and Reproductive Rights
On October 9, 2009, the Law School Initiative will hold a half day scholarly convening with the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School.
President Nancy Northup will moderate a panel on Information in the Patient-Provider Relationship, including Professor Joanna Erdman from the University of Toronto, Professor Carol Sanger of Columbia Law School, and Khiara Bridges, CRR-CLS Fellow.
A second panel, entitled Information and Marginalized Populations, will be moderated by Khiara Bridges and will include presentation by Professor Helena Silverstein from Lafayette College, Professor Jessie Hill from Case Western Reserve University, and Professor Pamela Bridgewater from American University’s Washington College of Law.
Topics addressed will include biased counseling laws, ultrasound and similar requirements and access to reproductive health for adolescents. Yale Law Professor Reva Siegel will give a lunch talk on decision-making around abortion and the role of dignity.
