The National LGBT Bar Association’s Annual Career Fair and Conference
On September 11, 2009, Center President Nancy Northup moderated a panel at the annual LGBT Bar Convention in Brooklyn, New York, titled Similar Struggles, Different Paths: Intersections between LGBT Rights and Reproductive Rights.
The panel highlighted emerging intersections between the LGBT and reproductive rights movements, addressing historical links and common theoretical underpinnings of the two movements, from the constitutional right to privacy to the human right to dignity.
Presenters included Jaime Todd-Gher, a Fellow at the Center, Professor Mary Anne Case from the University of Chicago, Shannon Minter, Legal Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and the Honorable D. Zeke Zeidler of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
