Texas: Devastation Gets a Head Start
The far-reaching anti-choice law that threatens to cripple
reproductive health care in Texas is already making a disastrous impact—weeks
before the law even goes into the effect. Four clinics are confirmed to be
closing, according
to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal:
The clinics that will close are in
Bryan, Harlingen, San Angelo and Midland. Two others closed earlier this year.
Amy Hagstrom Miller, founder and CEO of Whole Woman’s Health, said she’s heard
of three additional clinics that are planning to close.
Once again, the true effect of a law that extremist
politicians say will protect women and their health does nothing of the kind.
Rather, it robs women of the access to essential health care.
