Breana Lipscomb, the Center’s Senior Advisor of Maternal Health and Rights, was interviewed by Keisha Lancelin, the host of Focus Atlanta,on Black maternal health in Georgia. Lipscomb said, “Georgia consistently ranks near the bottom in maternal mortality or maternal death, as well as in maternal morbidity.” But, she added that individuals can take part in the work to improve Black maternal health in the U.S, including by supporting the Center’s efforts to advocate for better policies. Lipscomb said, “We can always use extra voices. Share your stories. Help us talk to our legislators about the fact that we need access to comprehensive community-based care.”
