Supplementary information on reproductive rights in Peru for the 46th session of the CESCR
In April 2011, the Center and more than 9 Peruvian organizations and international organizations submitted a shadow letter to the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights assessing the situation of sexual and reproductive rights of women and adolescents in Perú. Perú is scheduled to report to the Committee’s pre-sessional working group during its 46th session in May 2011. The shadow letter focuses on Perú’s failure to comply with its obligations under the International Covenant for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, especially with regards to the exercise of the right to comprehensive healthcare without discrimination.
