Sticky Intuitions
Sticky Intuitions
Columbia Law School Professor Suzanne Goldberg met
with Center staff on April 19, 2013, for a wide angle discussion about destabilizing judicial narratives in abortion
litigation. Professor Goldberg presented her thinking on the “sticky
intuitions,” or implicit biases, operating in the context of LGBTQ litigation,
and engaged with Center staff to identify the biases underlying judicial decision-making
in abortion litigation and to brainstorm what litigators can do to shift such
unconscious assumptions.
