Statement on the U.S. Department of Justice’s Request for Writ of Certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA

“Medication abortion is extraordinarily safe and effective, as decades of research has repeatedly shown. It is the most common method of abortion in the U.S. and an essential source of care for patients in this post-Roe world. The orders from both the Fifth Circuit and the federal district court blatantly ignore this science and undermine the FDA’s process for approving medications. We are grateful that the Biden Administration is continuing to push back on these brazen efforts to further limit access to essential healthcare. Americans’ health and freedom are on the line. We hope that the Supreme Court will step in to defend the rule of law and overturn these baseless rulings.”
