See the Ukrainian translation below.

Following the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the Center for Reproductive Rights expresses its deep solidarity with the people of Ukraine at this devastating time.

We stand with our civil society partners and fellow women human rights defenders in Ukraine who have worked tirelessly for many years to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender equality in Ukraine.  We know that this invasion will have severe consequences for women and girls and marginalized populations throughout Ukraine who need access to sexual and reproductive health care.

We are deeply concerned by reports of military strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure, and in particular on hospitals and other health-care facilities in Ukraine, which will have serious gendered and intersectional implications, including for pregnant women and girls.

As the numbers of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees, the majority of whom are women and children, continues to increase, we call on the governments of Hungary, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Slovakia to ensure access to essential services and affordable sexual and reproductive health care for all refugees without discrimination. We will be working to support our civil society partners and women human rights defenders across these countries in their efforts to protect the rights of refugees and ensure their access to sexual and reproductive health care.
