State Legislators Amicus Brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health
Brief filed at the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the Center's challenge to Mississippi's pre-viability abortion ban.
Amici are 896 state legislators throughout the United States.
The brief argues that the Mississippi ban is impermissible under the Court’s established jurisprudence. This ban would upend the already-precarious patchwork of abortion care nationwide and jeopardize access in states that protect abortion rights.
Amici argue that failure by the Court to uphold rule of law and precedent would result in disastrous consequences for people seeking abortions and their families and disproportionately impact the most vulnerable.

This brief was one of over 50 amicus briefs filed supporting this Supreme Court case, which challenges Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban. For more information on the case, go to Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
