State Attorneys General Amicus Brief
Amici are more than 20 state attorneys general.
Amici argue that the Texas abortion ban is unconstitutional, disregards the Court’s precedent and represents an attack on the rule of law. The brief demonstrates that the Texas abortion ban is inflicting grave harms on people across Texas and straining healthcare systems in neighboring states, including negative health and socioeconomic consequences for people who are forced to delay or forgo an abortion.
This brief was filed in support of two lawsuits at the U.S. Supreme Court challenging Texas’s abortion ban (S.B. 8), Whole Woman’s Health et. al. v. Jackson et. al. and United States v. Texas.
