Standing Up for Reproductive Rights: A Look Back at the 114th Congress
Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or to lose. I am resolved that we shall win the tomorrows before us. -President Lyndon B. Johnson
Standing Up for Reproductive Rights: A Look Back at the 114th Congress tells the story of the 114th Congress as it pertains to reproductive freedom. It is intended to chronicle the recently concluded congressional session as a means of better understanding today’s legislative battles, and to equip congressional staffers, journalists, and the public with the information necessary to “win the tomorrows before us.”
The report includes detailed information about the legislative fights to keep abortion clinics open and ensure affordable abortion coverage for all, it also discusses numerous legislative attacks on reproductive health and efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. Included in the report is an appendix, featuring:
- Fact sheets, including suggested messages, on key bills,
- A spreadsheet summarizing virtually all reproductive-rights related bills and resolutions, and
- A summary of current federal abortion restrictions.
