More than 80 civil society organizations from across Europe call on EU member states to take action on the rule of law crisis in Poland in advance of a hearing by the General Affairs Council on 22 February, 2022, focusing on the rule of law in Poland. The organizations are calling on the European Council to adopt a decision under Article 7 of the Treaty of the European Union establishing a serious risk to the rule of law in Poland and setting out recommendations the Polish authorities must take within clear timeframes.
