The Maternal Health, Dignity, and Consent Act prohibits drug, cannabis, or alcohol testing and screening of pregnant or postpartum individuals and newborns, unless the individual consents and testing or screening is within the scope of medical care, or is necessary for a medical emergency.

The Center for Reproductive Rights supports this important legislation and urges the New York Legislature to pass it.
