In May, the Center submitted a shadow letter to the Committee on the Rights of the Child highlighting the situation of girls’ and adolescents’ sexual and reproductive rights in Nigeria.  The Committee issued concluding observations to Nigeria that directly address many of the issues that the Center raised in the shadow letter.  These issues include maternal and child mortality, abortion, access to contraception, access to sexuality education, HIV transmission, early marriage, gender-based violence and sexual violence in schools.
