The Center for Reproductive Rights joined the case as an Amicus (friend of the court) to address the status of abortion as a reproductive healthcare right and service in Kenya. The brief sheds lights on the adverse effects of unwarranted restrictions on access to abortion care and the government’s commitments to combat maternal mortality and morbidity arising from unsafe abortion practices.
