Reproductive Justice Organizations Amicus Brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health
Brief filed at the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the Center's challenge to Mississippi's pre-viability abortion ban.
Amici are reproductive justice advocates and organizers including Mississippi in Action, Women With A Vision, Access to Reproductive Care – Southeast, and In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda.
The brief outlines how people of color and other marginalized people face barriers to fully realizing their right to reproductive autonomy, and how this would be exacerbated if Mississippi’s ban were to take effect.
The brief argues that Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban would deny people their reproductive autonomy and disproportionately harm people of color and other marginalized people. Amici highlight the devastating consequences that will ensue if the Court were to eliminate the right to abortion
