Reproductive Justice Advocates Amicus Brief
-
Amici are organizations and individuals fighting for reproductive justice.
-
The brief argues that marginalized communities – including low-income people, people of color, young people, immigrants, disabled people, and LGBTQ+ people – already face significant barriers to healthcare access and equitable health outcomes in Louisiana, including barriers to reproductive health and abortion care, due to systemic racism and other structural inequalities.
-
Act 620 will further curtail the already limited access that Louisiana’s marginalized communities have to safe and available abortion care, with profoundly negative consequences and in violation of fundamental human rights.
