Philip Briggs
Senior Manager, Global Office Operations
Philip joined the
Center in 2016. He is
responsible for providing support and guidance to the Center’s operations departments
globally and serve as the primary point of contact between NY and global operations staff.
Prior to joining the Center, Philip worked as the Global Operations Officer for Relief International,
serving as the principal lead on operations systems management and compliance
in the Middle East and Africa, and on the development and training of new
procurement, travel, inventory management and information management policies.
He also served as the Operations Manager, and subsequently the Country Director,
for RI in Jordan, overseeing all operational and programmatic aspects of the
organization in the country. Philip also served as the Country Representative
for the United States Institute of Peace in Iraq, implemented democracy and
governance programs for the Center for International Private Enterprise in
Egypt and Jordan, and improved the capacities of small enterprises and farmer
associations in Egypt for a number of consultancy firms.
Philip began his
career in Egypt as a part-time researcher at the Agha Khan Foundation and
ACDI/VOCA, and holds a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies from the
American University in Cairo. Philip is fluent in Arabic.
