Nina Monfredo, Legal Fellow

Nina joined the Center in 2019 and assists with all aspects of the Center’s U.S. litigation.  Nina first worked at the Center in 2016 as a legal intern.

Before rejoining the Center, Nina worked as a litigation associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, where she litigated a variety of complex commercial and pro bono matters, including reproductive rights and immigration cases.  Previously, she interned for the New York Civil Liberties Union and civil rights firm Neufeld, Scheck, & Brustin.  Prior to law school, Nina taught high school history as a Teach for America corps member in Memphis and worked for the NYC Department of Education as a Leadership for Educational Equity Fellow and an Impartial Hearing Representative.

Nina received her J.D. from Stanford Law School with high pro bono distinction.  While in law school, she was an Articles Editor for the Stanford Law Review and a Member Editor for the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.  She also participated in the Youth & Education Law Project clinic and Title IX Policy Lab, and served on the boards of Stanford Lawyering for Reproductive Justice and Shaking the Foundations Progressive Lawyering Conference.  Nina graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in history.
