Lauren Himiak
Storytelling Manager, Judicial Strategy
Lauren joined the Center in 2017 and oversees the strategy and opportunity to incorporate storytelling into the Center’s work, including in support of our litigation and policy advocacy strategies. Working closely with the Judicial Strategy team, as well as Communications, Lauren is building relationships and opportunity to collaborate with storytelling organizations and individuals to impact our courts.
She previously served as Communications Manager at the Sea Change Program, building the department from the ground up and working closely with reproductive storytellers through the Untold Stories Project. She has a background in international reproductive rights, working for Women Deliver and Population Council, and volunteering time in Haiti and Uganda to improve the health and resources for girls and women. Lauren also worked as a journalist for over ten years in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York.
Lauren received her MA in International Affairs, Governance and Human Rights from the New School and continues to blog for The Huffington Post as a contributing writer.
