Katherine Mayall
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Katherine Mayall is the Director of Strategic Initiatives within the Legal Strategies, Innovation, and Research unit, which serves as the focal point for ensuring technical excellence and legal coherency across the Center. In this capacity, Katherine works to strengthen strategic partnerships and establish innovative initiatives towards the realization of women’s and girls’ reproductive rights across the globe, including through capacity building and research.From 2017-2019, Katherine served as the Center’s Director of Capacity Building. In that role she oversaw a $3.5 million-euro grant to advance legal networks, technical assistance, and capacity building. Previously, she served as the Senior Manager of the Global Legal Program, where she worked cross-regionally on implementation of the Center’s strategic plan. From 2012-2015, Katherine was Global Advocacy Adviser at the Center, where she focused on developing stronger human rights standards and increased recognition and implementation of reproductive rights at the United Nations and in other inter-governmental bodies. As a prior member of the Center’s Latin America and Caribbean team, Katherine contributed to litigation efforts in the Inter-American system and worked on implementation of decisions from international human rights bodies. Katherine received her J.D. from Fordham Law School and has a B.S. in communications from Boston University.
