Fabiola Gretzinger
Global Legal Fellow
Fabiola Gretzinger joins the Center as a Legal Fellow on the Legal Strategies, Innovation, and Research team. In her role as a fellow, Fabiola assists with the maintenance of the Center’s World Abortion Laws Map, monitoring and analyzing national abortion laws around the world to track reproductive rights trends. Fabiola further supports the development of key legal principles around abortion, conducting legal research on emerging reproductive rights trends such as capacity and consent, maternal health, and abortion decriminalization.
Fabiola was raised in Costa Rica, with a brief period in Peru before moving to Minnesota, U.S.A. to attend college, where she graduated with a B.A. in Political. Fabiola went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota Law School in the Spring of 2022. While in law school, Fabiola participated in the Human Rights Litigation and International Advocacy Clinic, conducting advocacy at the United Nations’ level, and developing litigation strategies for international human rights violations before U.S. federal courts. Fabiola served the Minnesota Journal of International Law as Symposium Coordinator and Articles Editor, where her note titled Sexual Violence in Costa Rica: A Progressive Country with Regressive Gender Policies was recently published. Prior to joining the Center, Fabiola worked on international human rights litigation as a legal intern at the Center for Justice and International Law, as well as a part-time law clerk at Global Rights for Women. Fabiola also has a background in immigration law, serving as an immigration paralegal for almost three years.
