Cara Scott, Legal Assistant
Cara joined the Center in 2018 and is responsible for providing administrative and research support to the attorneys of the U.S. Litigation team.
Prior to joining the Center, Cara worked as a multi-district litigation case assistant for global law firm DLA Piper, where she conducted pro bono name change cases with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund. She is currently a member of the International Human Rights Committee at the New York City Bar Association.
Cara graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in Global Liberal Studies, a concentration in Politics, Rights, and Development, and a double minor in French and Gender and Sexuality Studies. As part of her program she spent a year living in Paris, where she interned at youth organization MAG Jeunes LGBT. Her studies culminated in her senior thesis: Recognition of Gay Identity in Paris and New York.
