Breana Lipscomb

Breana joined the Center’s US Human Rights team in 2017 as the US Maternal Health and Human Rights Campaign Manager.  In this role, she develops advocacy campaigns to promote Black maternal health, particularly in the South, mobilizing a broad base of stakeholders – policymakers, reproductive justice community, public health professionals, medical community, and advocates – to advance state level policies that further reproductive rights as human rights.

Breana has more than ten years of experience in public health, including in nonprofits and state government.  Most recently, she served as the Director of Maternal and Child Health at the March of Dimes located in South Carolina.  Prior to her time at the March of Dimes, Breana was at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, coordinating the state fetal/infant mortality review and other Maternal and Child Health Bureau programs. Breana has a BS in Biology and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
