Andrew Thompson
Director, Resource Development
Andy joined the Center in 2018 as a member of the Government Funding Unit. He leads many aspects of our government funding strategy, including providing senior development oversight to our current portfolio of government awards, building our capacity to deliver quality proposals to government funders, and managing the NY-based government funding staff.
He brings over 25 years of experience in health and international development having worked for a number of US-based international organizations and universities as well as living abroad in Brazil, France and Kenya. For 8 years Andy was a Senior Program Officer at ICAP – the HIV care and treatment program managed within the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. More recently he was the Deputy Director of External Relation and the Senior Manager for Business Development at EngenderHealth. Andy has also worked at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Harvard School of Public Health, and FHI 360.
He received his MBA in International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina and a BA from Davidson College.
