Adria Bonillas
Legal Fellow
Before joining the Center, Adria was an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department, where she represented the City of New York, its agencies, and employees in civil lawsuits brought in federal court. In that role, Adria was responsible for overseeing her own caseload, handling all aspects of civil litigation, including motion practice, attending court appearances, taking and defending depositions, and trying cases to verdict. Previously, Adria interned for the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and District Judge Dean D. Pregerson in the Central District of California.
Adria graduated from Boston University School of Law where she participated in the Employment Rights Clinic as a student attorney representing low-income clients in discrimination actions and wage and hour disputes. While at BU, she took an interest in health law and was selected to join the American Journal of Law and Medicine where she held the position of Note Editor. Adria was also a member of the Latin American Law Students Association (LALSA) and Women’s Law Association (WLA), and served as a 1L Student Advisor for incoming students. Adria graduated cum laude from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science.
