Oklahoma Bans Nearly All Abortions in “Unconstitutional” Move
Vox and The Black Wall Street Times reported on the Oklahoma state legislature’s passage of a near-total ban on abortion. Anyone who performs an abortion would receive 10 years in prison and fines up to $100,000. The Oklahoma Senate passed the measure last year, leaving the bill in the hands of Oklahoma’s self-proclaimed “pro-life” governor.
Both outlets quoted Rabia Muqaddam, senior staff attorney with the Center, who said, “The Oklahoma Supreme Court has found time and time again that the state’s attempts to restrict abortion are unconstitutional, as this total abortion ban clearly is.”
