Amanda Allen, our State Legislative Counsel at the Center for Reproductive Rights, appeared this past Sunday on MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry Show to discuss the developing story out of Mississippi where the state’s only abortion clinic is facing an immediate shutdown. The discussion came on the eve of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit hearing arguments in the Center’s case challenging Mississippi’s law requiring any doctor performing abortions in the state have admitting privileges at an area hospital. Allen and a panel of guests that included Dr. Willie Parker, who provides abortion services in Mississippi, explored the dangerous impact the law would have on women in the state.
