The Center for Reproductive Rights submitted a comment opposing the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA’s) proposed rule to ban abortion counseling and care. The comment strongly opposed the proposed rule as unlawful under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA), and as poor public policy for failing to provide comprehensive abortion care for veterans and their families.

Update: This rule was finalized on December 31, 2025, and became effective on January 30, 2026.
