The Office of Management and Budget released President Trump’s “skinny budget,” a topline discretionary budget request. The 46-page document outlines the President’s proposal to fund the government, which serves as a non-binding recommendation to Congress as it begins the annual appropriations process. The “skinny budget” includes several attacks on reproductive healthcare, including proposals to:

  • Eliminate all funding for Title X, the nation’s only federal program dedicated to providing affordable birth control, STI testing, and other health care services for people with low incomes.
  • Slash over $6 billion for global health efforts, attacking life-saving international family planning and reproductive health programs.
  • Cut nearly $700 million from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services budget and eliminate the agency’s health equity initiatives.
  • Eliminate all funding for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program, which supports young people with information and resources.
  • Cut funding from the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, which it accuses of having been “weaponized” against “pro-life Americans.”
