This term, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, a case in which the Center is challenging a Mississippi law that bans abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy. In an article on the term, CNN quoted the Center’s Senior Director of U.S. Litigation, Julie Rikelman, who said, “Unless the Court is to be perceived as representing nothing more than the preferences of its current membership, it is critical that judicial protection hold firm absent the most dramatic and unexpected changes in law or fact.”
