State Department releases annual Human Rights Report without mention of reproductive rights
- Executive Actions
The State Department released its annual “Country Reports on Human Rights Practices,” an essential resource used by Congress, federal agencies, civil society organizations, journalists, academics, and international governments to assess global human rights conditions. This year’s Human Rights Report abandons internationally accepted definitions of human rights and omits all reporting on the status of reproductive rights around the world. The elimination of this critical reporting occurred during the first Trump administration beginning with the 2017 reports.
