The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through its Administration for Children and Families (ACF), terminated over $12 million of California’s pregnancy prevention funding. ACF canceled the state’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) grant, a critical federally-funded education program that supports prevention of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections in schoolchildren, because ACF claimed that California was promoting “gender ideology” in its initiative.
