On June 24, 2023, Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, to mark one year since the Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade and eliminated the constitutional right to abortion.

At the Center’s recommendation, Dr. Amy Bryant, a former Center client and North Carolina abortion provider, introduced the Vice President at the event and gave brief remarks.

“I did not study medicine to practice law,” said Dr. Bryant. “Pregnancy is just too complicated to legislate.”
