MSNBC and several other broadcast networks covered arguments at the Supreme Court in the  Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. The Center’s Senior Director of U.S. Litigation, Julie Rikelman, interviewed by MSNBC after arguments, said, “I think we were able to make all the points we wanted to make, which was, of course, to emphasize the 50 years of precedent, that the court has never taken away a constitutional right, and how important this right is for women.” 

In another interview with MSNBC, Nancy Northup, the Center’s President and CEO, echoed the importance of upholding the right to abortion, stating, “If Roe falls…half the states in the United States are going to ban abortion and that is going to be a crisis across the country.” 

Shannon Brewer, the director of Jackson Women’s Health Organization and the Center’s client, is already seeing the impact this ban has had on her clients. Commenting about  anti-abortion protestors, Brewer said, “I think they are out of touch with reality, with what is really going on in certain areas of the world, especially in these southern states.”
