Executive orders on “eradicating anti-Christian bias,” establishing White House Faith Office
- Executive Actions
President Trump signed two executive orders addressing faith in the public sphere. The first order establishes a task force, chaired by Attorney General Bondi and staffed by government officials including Secretary of State Rubio and HHS Secretary Kennedy. The task force is charged with reviewing any existing policies that the administration views as “anti-Christian.” For instance, the order cites the Biden administration’s enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act against individuals who engaged in blockading and breaking into abortion clinics and harassing patients and providers as an example of “egregious…targeting [of] peaceful Christians.” The second order establishes the White House Faith Office as part of the Domestic Policy Council and directs its staff to work with faith-based entities and houses of worship with expertise in “protecting women and children [and] strengthening marriage and family.”
