The Center for Reproductive Rights submitted a comment  to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) opposing a proposed rule that would drastically expand the definition of “public charge.” This would give DHS officers broader discretion to deny non-citizens’ legal status or entry into the US. The comment highlighted how this policy would harm pregnant and postpartum immigrants and their families.
