In this FOIA, we sought information about the CDC’s Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS). We requested records and communications between department staff, anti-abortion organizations, and legislators to better understand how HHS and CDC use the NWSS to monitor for drugs outside of the legislative and regulatory mandate to focus on infectious diseases.
