- Executive Actions
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the appointment of five new members to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), a group of medical and public health experts who develop recommendations on the use of vaccines. The new members join the committee in the aftermath of the controversial decision by Secretary Kennedy to remove every member in June without cause. The new members include vaccine critics and skeptics as well as an anti-abortion advocate, Dr. Evelyn Griffin, who has supported Louisiana’s abortion ban and spoken at an event hosted by the anti-abortion organization Louisiana Right to Life.
