Mississippi Asks U.S. Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade
Media coverage on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization as Mississippi asks Court to uphold its abortion ban and overrule almost 50 years of precedent.
Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, was quoted in several publications in reaction to the state of Mississippi’s opening brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization filed on July 22. In the brief, Mississippi asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the Roe and Casey decisions and uphold the state’s unconstitutional ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The Center will be arguing the case to defend abortion rights at the Supreme Court this fall.
