Medical Students Amicus Brief in Access Independent Health Services Inc., d/b/a Red River Women’s Clinic v. Wrigley
Brief filed February 5, 2025 at the North Dakota Supreme Court.
Amicus is Medical Students for Choice, a non-profit organization that seeks to ensure that medical students and trainees have access to comprehensive, evidence-based education on reproductive health care. The brief outlines the concern of its organization’s members with respect to the amended abortion ban and its implications for the quality of medical education and residency programs in North Dakota, and the negative effect it has on medical students as they strive to learn to provide critical care to patients. Amicus demonstrates how the abortion ban will exacerbate care deserts in North Dakota and will negatively impact medical education and medical students’ residency opportunities.
